About Me – The Rest of the Owl

My name is Jacob F. Grant.

I’m a largely self-taught programmer, SRE, systems engineer/administrator, MacAdmin, homelabber, and nerd. This site is where I write about some of the technology I’ve worked on or found interesting, partly in the hope that the next person trying to do something I already have will have an easier go of it.

I am currently a DevOps Engineer/SRE consultant at Taos (recently acquired by IBM) in the Bay Area. Prior to that I headed up technology and data efforts at Mraz Amerine & Associates, a Registered Investment Advisor (RIA) in the California Central Valley.
